If you have bought yourself a luxury watch, you are going to want to treat it with a ton of care and clean it meticulously on a regular basis, much in the same way that you would get a luxury car cleaned and detailed. The great thing about luxury watches is that they are typically built with the highest grade of materials and will literally last decades upon decades if taken care of properly. When it comes to taking care of a watch and keeping it clean, you are going to want to clean the watch yourself the best you can every month or so, and take it in to get professionally cleaned periodically. It is up to you how often you want to take your watch in to get professionally inspected and cleaned, but this is something that most people like to get done.

Cleaning Luxury Watches at Home
The first thing you are going to have to do is figure out what type of material the watch is made out of, which you can likely find by checking out the luxury watch brands website. Your watches material will end up determining which types of cleaning products you want to use on your watch, as different cleaning products may react differently to different metals. You are then going to want to take the band off the watch entirely. If your band is made out of metal, you can put it in some warm water and let it soak, or you can put your leather band in a warm water and vinegar mixture. This is done to let the band soak and release dirt and build up that is likely present. You are then going to want to take a tooth brush and lightly scrub the band, which is going to get rid of the rest of the dirt. It is generally not a good idea to mess with the insides of the main watch, but you are going to want to lightly clean the watch with a lint free cloth. After your band is dried off, you can attach it back on to the main portion of the watch.

Professional Cleaning
While you can definitely get your watch looking great at home, you definitely want to take your watch in to get professional cleaned and detailed every now and then. The reason for this is that they will be able to fix and small imperfections that may have developed over time, which is something that just about every watch ends up getting inflicted with. Every time you bump something or set your watch down, you may end up with a little scratch, or you might even have dirt in areas that you simply can’t get to on your own. There is no question that your watch will end up looking better after you take it to a professional, as you can think about this in the same way of getting your car cleaned and detailed every now and then.
